So, what does art and science have in common? This girl! My name is Melisa (Me-LEE-sa) and I am a local, self-taught artist who specializes in Abstract Paintings and Interior Wall Art. I like to think of myself as the bridge between the technical introvert and the expressive eccentric. I'm a Chemist by day and an Artist by passion. I was born and raised in a small town in the lowcountry of South Carolina but currently residing, creating and curating in the Fort Mill, SC and Charlotte, NC areas. Although I have no formal education or “training” in art, I discovered my gift as early as 8 years old. In 2017, I decided to professionally pursue my true passion and first love, Art.

My style is modern and abstract. Color is my jam. I specialize in jewel tones, free flowing collisions, curated “cells”, and accents of gold. The movement in my paintings represent the unexpected twists and turns of life. The gold represents light in a world that can often times seem dim. My paintings reflect the inner ability to let things flow and let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy.
